Yoga as Therapy.
Yoga Therapy is best described as Personal Training and Life Coaching from a yoga perspective.
I began my career back in 1981 as a Registered Nurse and a Registered Sick Children's Nurse, later specialising in Neonatal Intensive Care.
It was my experience with hundreds of patients and families that awoke my interest in how we can influence our own health and wellbeing through our diet, actions and thoughts. I wanted to be able to help people in a fully holistic way - rather than treat only symptoms I wanted to help heal the whole person. On a personal level I have always been a bit of a 'stress head' and found my yoga classes really helped to look at myself and make changes.
This prompted me to take my first yoga teacher training at the Yoga for Health and Education Trust. I found the whole thing fascinating and studied further in the field of Remedial Yoga.
Although we can soon reap the rewards of a regular group practice, a personalised session or series of sessions will enhance the effectiveness many times over.
We begin before we even have our first session together by discovering your own Dosha. This is your personal body/mind type.
Then we can work out together how to use this information to help you achieve your goals - whether that is to relieve physical or mental issues, lose weight, reduce stress or simply get fitter.
You are encouraged to practice at home whenever you can and the use of a journal can really help you along the way.
Think you are worth investing a little time to heal and restore? You are! Just call 07815036397 for any more information and to take your first steps to wellness.
